LAS VEGAS — In a story published August 20, 2023, about how conferences and universities hire companies to monitor whether athletes, coaches and staff members are gambling on sports, The Associated Press erroneously reported the American Gaming Association estimates about $4 billion are wagered illegally every year. The AGA’s estimate is about $64 billion.
