Patrycja Klekotka had 13 kills and Maja Potpara added 22 assists and seven kills but it wasn't enough as No. 22 Dowling lost its semifinal match to Concordia-St. Paul, 25-13, 25-10, 25-20, Friday at the NCAA Division II women's volleyball tournament in Louisville, Ky.

Dowling (31-2) led 2-1 in Game 1 and 1-0 in Game 3, but otherwise never held an advantage over the Golden Bears (31-4), who were led by Emily Palkert's 14 kills.

Potpara, the 2010 ECC player of the year and an ECC All-Conference first-team selection, also had seven digs and two service aces.

Dowling men's soccer falls.

The Dowling's men's soccer team lost to Northern Kentucky, 4-1, in the NCAA Division II semifinal late Thursday in Louisville, Ky.

Dowling (12-2-6), had won 12 straight, but quickly fell behind in the first minute on a goal by Paul Andrews. Steven Beattie scored twice for a 3-0 lead before Dowling's Sulemana Ali scored in the 39th minute of the first half for the Golden Lions' only goal.

Before the game, Dowling's Vladimir Milosavljevic was honored with the NCAA Elite 88 Award. The award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the final site for each of the NCAA's 88 championships.
