ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Bills linebacker Joe Andreesen, aka “Buffalo Joe,” is staying in his hometown for a few more seasons after signing a two-year contract extension on Saturday.

The 26-year-old Andreesen is into his third season in Buffalo and has established himself as a key special teams player. He's had three starts in 33 career games and has become a fan favorite in part because he is from the Buffalo suburb of Lancaster.

Andreesen earned a roster spot as an undrafted free agent after splitting his college career at Bryant and Buffalo.

The Bills have opened the season 3-0 and host AFC East division rival New England (1-2) on Sunday.
