Coughlin chides those who "are given credit for being good football players"
Tom Coughlin didn’t try to hide his concern when asked how far the team is from being ready for the opener two weeks from today.
“We’re a ways away,” he said.
He wasn’t holding back when talking about the guys on the team either. He groused about a lack of energy and enthusiasm. “Some people played well, played hard,” he said. “We just didn’t have enough.” And he also noted how having the starting quarterback on the sideline for a week during the preseason has slowed the offense.
But perhaps most indicting of all was this, a call out of some of the big-names on both sides of the ball.
“Some people are given credit for being good football players and (they) gotta get going,” he said. “It’s time to get going. Lets go.”
