Two of top 3 corners not practicing, Coughlin says Ross "getting better" and the Giants "gotta have (Webster) back"
One of the immediate areas of concern for the Giants is their secondary. Aaron Ross was not on the practice field today and Corey Webster was on the sideline. Tom Coughlin, however, sounded more confident in the quick return of the guy who was out of sight.
“He’s getting better,” Coughlin said of Ross, who is dealing with a torn plantar fascia. “The reports are good. They have some things they have to try to work on in terms of his comfort level with the shoe, but he’s getting there. We’ll see.”
The shoe, of course, means the insert that they are putting in Ross’ cleats to help relieve some of the pain from the injury.
As for Webster, he has a sore groin. We first saw him with a wrap on the area in the third preseason game against the Ravens (although some suggested it was there against the Steelers a week earlier too, I did not notice it then) and then he missed last week’s preseason finale against the Patriots because of the injury.
“We’ll see,” Coughlin said. “Gotta have him back, though, come Wednesday.”
