DENVER - Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis still isn't fully healed from his hamstring problem, but he took comfort in the fact that he at least finished his second straight game since returning to the lineup.

"I don't feel 100 percent, but I felt good, and that's the big thing," Revis said after the Jets' 24-20 win over the Broncos Sunday at Invesco Field at Mile High. "I finished the game. I felt good about the whole game. I ran well out there."

Revis again reported swelling in the injured hamstring, just as he did after last Monday night's win over the Vikings. But he believes the swelling soon will subside and that he'll continue to show improvement. He now has the advantage of a bye week and will spend the time advancing the healing process.

"I think this week is important for me to get back to 100 percent," he said. "I felt 90 percent, good enough to go. This week is good to get the treatment I need, see a bunch of doctors and go from there."

Revis found himself in the uncustomary role of being targeted by the Broncos. Many teams shy away from throwing at him, but Denver quarterback Kyle Orton repeatedly threw at the receiver Revis was covering, whether it be Jabar Gaffney or rookie Demaryius Thomas. Orton rarely threw in the direction of the Jets' other starting cornerback, Antonio Cromartie.

On the Broncos' first touchdown drive early in the second quarter, Gaffney caught three passes - including a 27-yarder to the Jets' 5 - by outperforming Revis. Gaffney caught the 27-yarder over Revis' outstretched hands down the left sideline. On the next play, rookie quarterback Tim Tebow sprinted around right end for a touchdown to make it 7-7 with 11:18 to play in the quarter.

Revis gave up a touchdown to Thomas late in the third quarter to put Denver ahead 17-10. The rookie outjumped Revis in the right side of the end zone and appeared to bobble the ball as he came down with it, but the Jets didn't challenge the call on replay.

Revis has given up three touchdowns in the four games he's played this year. Last season, he gave up only two touchdowns in 19 games, including playoffs.

"Did he get beat for a touchdown? Yeah, he did," coach Rex Ryan said. "He's going to get beat again for a touchdown no matter if he's 90 percent or 100 percent or whatever. That's just the way it is. He's a great player. They all get beat."

Ryan said he decided shortly after warm-ups were over that he would activate Revis rather than rest him and give him the extra time in the bye week to recover. The coach said he was aware of suggestions he should rest his star cornerback, but he stood by his decision.

"I know everyone criticized me, but I don't care, because I have broad shoulders," Ryan said. "I'll take the criticism. We're in the win business. I never felt, after talking to the medical people, that he could [worsen] the injury."
