DALLAS — With all signs pointing toward the approval of a New York/New Jersey Super Bowl, the Giants and Jets ownership groups are taking nothing for granted.

Met up with Jets owner Woody Johnson this morning as he was heading in to meet with his fellow owners at the Omni Hotel here, and I asked him how he was feeling.

"Cautiously optimistic," he said. "Let's leave it at that. Everybody I speak to has nice things to say, but we really won't know until the votes are counted."

We should know the final tally later this afternoon, as the New York/New Jersey bid goes up against bids from South Florida and Tampa.

Johnson was in the spirit of things with his tie, which turned out to have some symbolism. Yes, it was green (his color of choice), but it had blue stripes in it. Coincidence? Nope.

"I call it bilateral symmetry," he said.

Green for the Jets. Blue for the Giants.

Today, the teams are on the same side.
