Reggie Ragland, Buffalo Bills rookie ILB, needs knee surgery and may miss season

PITTSFORD, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills rookie linebacker Reggie Ragland needs surgery to repair a torn left knee ligament and may miss the season.
The Bills provided the one-sentence update on Wednesday.
The announcement came a day after coach Rex Ryan said it’s possible that Ragland had a torn ligament. He added the medical staff couldn’t make an exact determination until the swelling subsided.
Ragland was hurt during practice Friday while going after the ball carrier. He pulled up and went to the ground without being hit.
Buffalo’s second-round draft pick out of Alabama was projected to start at one of the two inside linebacker positions.
