Revis close to a deal? Not yet

Despite increased speculation that the Jets are closing in on a deal with holdout cornerback Darrelle Revis, there were strong indications late yesterday that there was actually no movement on negotiations for a long-term contract.
Tim Cowlishaw of the Dallas Morning News said on his Twitter account yesterday that Revis’ agents, Jonathan Feinsod and Neil Scwhartz, were scheduled to have a meeting last night with Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum. But according to a person familiar with the situation, there was no scheduled meeting. A report by Dan Graziano on AOL Fanhouse also suggested the two sides were close to agreeing on a contract.
The Jets did not comment on the reports, citing a recent confidentiality clause agreed to by the team and the agents.
Revis has made $15 million over the first three years of his contract, and is due to make $21 million over his next three seasons. He is scheduled to make $1 million this season. Revis held out in his rookie season to reach agreement on his current deal.
