Jamal Benn had 35 points, including two free throws with 11 seconds left to help lift No. 4 Lawrence Woodmere Academy to a 65-62 win over fifth-seeded York Prep last night in a state NYSAIS Tournament quarterfinal.

Lawrence Woodmere Academy (20-3) led 39-25 at the half, but York cut the lead to 63-62 with 15 seconds left on a two-pointer by Shane Richards (30 points). But Benn drained then his free throws to make it 65-62.

York missed two potential tying three-pointers in the final 10 seconds. Trent Parrish added 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers, who will play host to top-seeded Riverdale in a semifinal at 5 p.m. today.
