In Amityville's 60-35 victory over Glenn on Tuesday, David Seymour scored 17 points in the third quarter. Seymour's outburst in the boys basketball game tied the Warriors' school record for points in a period, set by A.J. Price, who scored 17 points in the second quarter in a victory over Rocky Point on Feb. 10, 2004.

Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun was in the stands at Amityville for Price's performance and eventually offered the guard a scholarship.

Quite a career

Before Tuesday night's Deer Park at Half Hollow Hills West game, the Colts' Emile Blackman was honored for scoring his 1,000th career point against Copiague on Jan. 3. His mother and grandmother were each presented with a bouquet of flowers and his brother and teammate, Jamir Blackman, was also introduced. It was Jamir's feed to Emile for a dunk that produced the milestone points.

Blackman has 1,047 points, ranking behind Tobias Harris (2,105) and Tavon Sledge (1,193). Blackman is being heavily recruited by LIU Brooklyn, Quinnipiac, Hofstra and Marist and told Newsday he will not decide until after the season.
