Monday night's suspended League IV boys basketball game between Bellport and Half Hollow Hills West will resume today at 5 p.m. at Hills West, Section XI executive director Ed Cinelli confirmed.

No spectators will be allowed into the continued contest, which was halted with 1:59 remaining in the third quarter and Hills West leading, 52-33. "It was the schools' decision to play without spectators," Cinelli said. "They have a right to do that."

The game was stopped when the parents of a Hills West player raced onto the court to confront officials, who did not call a foul after contact between their son and a Bellport player. "I definitely saw the parents come onto the court. I was amazed that happened," Bellport athletic director John Frankie said.

Although there were some angry words and several fans came onto the court, officials from both schools said no punches were thrown. A spokesman for the Suffolk County police department said that no incident report had been filed.

Several players on both teams were suspended from Monday's resumed game as well as the next game for leaving the bench. "That's a rule that's been on the books for quite some time," Cinelli said.
