Alessandro Troia hit the game-winning layup with 38 seconds left in Manhasset's 64-63 victory over Floral Park in Nassau Conference A-III boys basketball on Friday night. Troia scored 11 of his 29 points in a 21-11 fourth quarter for Manhasset (5-0), which trailed 40-30 at halftime. Troia also had 10 rebounds. Gary Tibbs added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Dan Merola scored 15 points. Shamoy McIntosh led Floral Park (4-1) with 26 points.

Massapequa 64, Syosset 53: Ryan Van Buren scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half for Massapequa (4-2), which trailed 28-27 at halftime in Conference AA-I. He also had 13 rebounds. Matt Smocovich added 17 points and Michael Donohue had 10. Jake Laine led Syosset (1-4) with 12 points.

Herricks 68, Plainview JFK 66: Sophomore Andrew Fellus scored a career-high 30 points for Herricks in Conference AA-II. George Malonoukos had 18 points and 16 rebounds and scored on a putback with 32 seconds left to give Herricks (2-2) a 68-63 lead. Jack Kim added seven points and 13 assists. Greg Rankel had 24 points for Plainview JFK (1-4).

New Hyde Park 50, Jericho 38: Kevin Towey scored eight of his 11 points during a 14-6 fourth quarter to lead New Hyde Park (4-2) in Conference A-I. Joe Justice added 10 points. Jordan Kanzer and Jonathan Orr each scored nine points for Jericho (3-2).

West Hempstead 48, Great Neck North 47: Mike Mangino scored on a putback with 11.5 seconds left to give West Hempstead (3-2) the deciding points in Conference A-III. West Hempstead led 42-27 at the end of the third quarter. Mangino finished with six points and seven rebounds. Darnell Davy and Tyree Glascoe each scored eight points. Ben Batash led Great Neck North (2-5) with eight points.

Mineola 55, Island Trees 52: Thomas Ward, who scored 14 points, hit the game-winning three-pointer with 0.4 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give Mineola (3-0) the win in Conference A-IV. James Bulva added 13 points. Charlie Bours tied the score at 52 for Island Trees (1-2) with 1:00 remaining.

Wheatley 55, East Rockaway 53: Bryan Wilson hit a jumper with less than a minute left to give Wheatley (3-2) a 54-53 lead in Conference BC. Chris Gould, inished with 20 points and Zach Rogers added 12. Mike Castellano and David McClure each scored 12 points for East Rockaway (3-3).

SUFFOLK

Brentwood 59, Lindenhurst 55: Donovan Stewart scored 18 points, including 6 of 6 free throws in an 11-7 overtime, for Brentwood (3-2) in League I. Stu Warren scored 20 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter and overtime for Lindenhurst (1-4). Warren's putback with 28 seconds left in regulation tied the score at 48 to force overtime. Sylvester Lubin had nine points and eight rebounds for Brentwood, and Ditter Mills added 10 points.

Sachem East 58, Longwood 41: Senior Dan Candemeres scored 25 of his career-high 37 points in the first half to lead Sachem East (4-1) in League I. He was the only player in double figures for either team. Brian Corbett added eight points and seven rebounds. Blake Evans led Longwood (4-1) with nine points.

Connetquot 62, Sachem North 56: Dan Bryant scored 12 points, including 3 of 4 free throws in the last 2:00 for Connetquot (2-3) in League II. He also had 14 rebounds. Greg Silvestro scored a career high 13 points and Casey Baker and Ryan Reidy each had 10. Dave Brown led Sachem North (2-3) with 21 points. PSAA

Lawrence Woodmere Academy 62, Evangel (Queens) 60: Jamal Benn, who scored 29 points, hit a three-pointer with 1:19 remaining to give Lawrence Woodmere (5-0) a 62-60 lead in PSAA. Trent Parrish added 17 points and Jerome Hayden had 12 points and seven assists. Vincent Sanc hez led Evangel with 32 points.
