Petey Greene had nine tackles, one of which stopped a two-point conversion attempt with 3:07 remaining, to preserve Division's 14-12 win over Valley Stream South in a Nassau Conference III football game Saturday. Greene also had an interception and blocked an extra-point try. With one minute left and Valley Stream South (3-4) facing a fourth-and-5, Greene made a tackle to prevent a first down, sealing the win for Division (5-2). Division's Dylan Cardno was 11-for-18 passing for 251 yards and two touchdowns.
Hewlett 23, Manhasset 21: Sam Martorella's 69-yard TD run with 3:30 left gave Hewlett (4-3) a 23-19 lead over Manhasset (4-3). Hewlett came back from a 12-0 first- quarter deficit and Jeremy Leguillo's 5-yard TD run gave Hewlett a 16-12 lead in the third quarter. Manhasset answered with Steve Fratello's 42-yard fourth-quarter run before Martorella's TD. Leguillo had 54 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 11 carries and Zach Richman was 6-for-9 passing for 103 yards to go with 66 rushing yards on 14 carries. Hewlett's Woodley Augustine had seven tackles and an interception, Gabe Rodriguez had eight tackles and Jared Brent had two sacks.
Bethpage 29, Floral Park 14: Danny Chillianis had 78 yards rushing and two TDs on 11 carries and added 54 yards receiving and a score on two catches to lead Bethpage (7-0) over Floral Park (3-4). Justin Rohr threw a 50-yard TD pass to Chillianis to give Bethpage a 22-0 lead. Rohr was 5-for-6 passing for 84 yards and one TD. Nick Pombonyo had three receptions for 45 yards and a TD for Bethpage and Frank Camidge had nine tackles.
Sewanhaka 41, Great Neck North 14: Malik Morris had 151 rushing yards on 16 carries and scored two TDs -- a 4-yarder on his team's first drive and a 60-yarder midway through the third quarter -- to lead Sewanhaka (2-5) over Great Neck North (1-6). Corey Jones connected with Jerry Bolivar for TD passes of 20 and 39 yards.
Plainedge 49, Glen Cove 7: Ralph Caccavale had 183 rushing yards and three TDs on 18 carries and Nick Franger was 18-for-26 passing for 204 yards and two TDs to lead Plainedge (4-3) over Glen Cove (3-4). Joe Bouse scored on a 45-yard run and a 75-yard kickoff return. Andrew Jones had 12 tackles and Caccavale had an interception.
South Side 40, Roslyn 6: Brendan Jackson rushed for 97 yards and two TDs on 14 carries as South Side (2-5) beat Roslyn (0-7). South Side took a 26-0 lead in the third quarter on Cole Considine's 25-yard TD pass to Dan Villandre. South Side's Eric Albertsen rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
