Garcia's major decision keys Central Islip

Carlos Garcia had a reversal and near fall in the second period of a 9-1 major decision against Mike Barany at 130 pounds as Central Islip topped Lindenhurst, 38-33, in Suffolk League II wrestling on Friday.

Central Islip trailed 30-9 before taking six matches in a row.

Bayport-Blue Point 61, Port Jefferson 10: Senior Kyle Underwood scored a 14-0 major decision over Christian Eylers at 130 pounds for his 100th career win for Bayport-Blue Point (3-0) in League VII.

Sachem East 42, Floyd 22: Sean O'Malley won a 10-3 decision over R.J Paquette at 145 pounds to win his 122nd career match and become the all-time wins leader for Sachem East in League I.

Smithtown West 59, Half Hollow Hills West 14: Joe Hunsucker pinned Nick Terzi with a cradle in 3:24 at 140-pounds as Smithtown West (3-1, League III) won seven straight matches and overcame a 14-0 deficit.

Kings Park 58, Eastport-South Manor 6: Greg Bienenstein defeated Ryan Cutler, 14-11, at 189 pounds to lead Kings Park (4-0) in League V.

Syosset 65, Sewanhaka West 12: Tommy Anderson used front headlock for one of several takedowns in a 7-0 decision against Bill Odugbenson at 171 for Syosset (3-1) in Nassau Conference IA. Nick Bilianis used a switch to go behind on Nick Melendez en route to a 4-2 victory at 189 for the Braves.

Baldwin 63, Hicksville 16: Isiah Taylor pinned Aaron Kuzcek in 5:37 at 189 pounds for Baldwin (3-1) in Conference 1B.

Jericho 34, Great Neck South 19: Freshman Mike Sunmonu pinned Louis Palomo in 3:36 at 140 pounds for his first varsity win for Jericho (2-3, Conference 2B).

Mepham 54, Westbury 27: Danny Tracy pinned John Cabanas in 2:30 at 145 pounds to lead Mepham (3-2) in Conference 2B.

Connetquot 57, Northport 13: Anthoyn Scaffedi scored three points late in the match to defeat Ken Gallagher, 6-2, in the 103-pound bout for Connetquot (3-0) in League II.

Commack 43, Bellport 28: Mike Dangelo pinned Mike Hossain in 2:34 at 103 pounds to lead Commack (3-2) in non-league.

Sayville 96, Harborfields 76: Andrew Cremer won the 200 meter freestyle in 2:04.82 and the 400 freestyle in 4:24.69 and Chris Weaver won the 200 IM in 2:31.97 and the 100 meter backstroke with a time of 1:08.02 for Sayville (4-0) League II. Matthew Hillsberg won the 500 meter freestyle in 26.21 and the 100 meter freestyle in 58.14 in the win.
