Roundup: Covas, Duarte lead Carle Place girls

Jessica Covas and Melissa Duarte each scored early in the second half as Carle Place overcame a one-goal deficit in the first half to top Cold Spring Harbor, 2-1, yesterday in Nassau Conference BC girls soccer.

Covas scored on a through ball to put Carle Place (6-3) up 2-1. Duarte’s goal tied the score at 1 earlier in the half. Karla Gomes had nine saves in the win.

Chelsea Tuohy scored in the first half to give Cold Spring Harbor a 1-0 lead.

Hewlett 0, Roslyn 0: Nathalie Nidetch had four saves for Hewlett (2-4-5) and Talia Berman had nine stops for Roslyn (2-5-4) in Conference A-III.

Half Hollow Hills West 1, West Babylon 0: Ana Alhoud headed in a ball off a cross from Stephanie Ramirez in the 38th minute to lead Hills West (4-6) in Suffolk League IV.

Bellport 3, Harborfields 0: Christina Dutcher scored two goals and Magen Schaeffer made eight saves for Bellport (1-7-2) in League V.

Islip 1, Comsewogue 0: Rachel Cipriano scored off an assist from Morgan Santoro with 4:36 left in the game for Islip (4-4-1) in League V. Kersey Reagan made eight saves in the win.

Amityville 1, Rocky Point 0: Kelly Siry scored a goal with 33:33 left in the first half to lift Amityville (1-7-2) in League VI. Alison Campos had 15 saves for her second shutout of the season for the Warriors.

Miller Place 3, East Hampton 0: Kayla Ceschini had a goal and assist and Danielle Bambolla made seven saves for Miller Place (10-1) in League VI.

Bayport-Blue Point 7, Southampton 0: Nicole Copping had three goals and one assist for Bayport-Blue Point (10-2) in League VII.

Center Moriches 1, Mattituck 0: Claire Brady scored the go-ahead goal with 12:57 left in the game to lead Center Moriches (8-0-4) in League VII.

Smithtown Christian 2, Mercy 1: Chelsea Bellini scored the winning goal for Smithtown Christian (8-2-0) on a breakaway four minutes into the first overtime in League VIII.

Commack 0, Ward Melville 0: Jake Amereno had 12 saves for Commack (6-5-1) and Jack Bruckner had nine saves for Ward Melville in League I.

Brentwood 3, Floyd 1: Allan Samayoa had a goal and an assist to lead Brentwood (10-1-1) in League I.

Sachem East 3, Longwood 2: Owen Martin scored from 6 yards off a pass by Nick Schook with 15 minutes left to give Sachem East (11-0-1) a 3-1 lead in League I. Schook finished with two assists, and Rob Caldwell and Demetrios Tsiokas also scored in the win.

Connetquot 2, Lindenhurst 0: Matt Munoz and Anthony LoRusso scored and James Pinolla made five saves for Connetquot (5-5-2) in League II.

Comsewogue 4, Hauppauge 0: Alex Healion recorded his first hat trick of the season helped Comsewogue (6-5-2, 5-5-2) take a 4-0 halftime lead in League IV.

Deer Park 3, Bellport 1: Matt Montanez broke a tie at 1 in the 46th minute to lead Deer Park (7-4-1) in League IV. Frank Mitrani and Lawrence Pierre each had goals and Nick Lazarich had six saves for Deer Park, which clinched a playoff berth for the first time in six years.

West Babylon 2, Copiague 0: Nick Darby scored the second goal of the game to lead West Babylon (6-5-1) in League IV. Jordan Pomarico also scored in the win.
