High school roundup: Girls volleyball, boys and girls soccer and field hockey

Jill Livingston (24) and Khylee Boesch totaled 43 kills as Sayville edged Hampton Bays, 25-16, 18-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-8, in Suffolk VI girls volleyball on Friday.

Livingston added 13 digs and Boesch had four blocks and three aces. Lauren Sesso had 22 digs and Jenna Brown made 35 assists for Sayville (7-1).

Patchogue-Medford 3, Brentwood 0: Shayla Merlos had 13 kills, eight digs and two aces for Patchogue-Medford (6-3-1), 27-25, 25-18, 28-26, in Suffolk I. Salome Rios had 10 kills, 12 digs and an ace, and Milania Richardson had 20 assists.

Commack 3, North Babylon 0: Ava Khan had 26 digs and six aces to lead Commack (5-4), 25-18, 27-25, 25-9, in Suffolk II. Olivia Pagano added six kills, 10 assists and nine digs.

Smithtown East 3, Newfield 2: Samantha Keil totaled 22 assists, 12 kills, five digs and two aces to lead Smithtown East (10-0), 25-21, 25-9, 16-25, 21-25, 15-12, in Suffolk III. Brianna Cerullo contributed 14 kills and eight digs. Sadie LaPresti added 20 assists and nine digs. Gracyn Catalanotto picked up 21 digs, four assists and six aces. Samantha Ingoglia chipped in seven kills, three blocks and two digs.

Sachem North 3, Riverhead 2: Kylie DiMenna logged 22 kills to lead Sachem North (8-2), 24-26, 25-13, 25-22, 18-25, 15-13, in Suffolk I.

BOYS SOCCER

Oceanside 2, East Meadow 0: Jackson Langevin assisted Brady Castoro’s opening goal in the second half before Richie Visone scored five minutes later off an assist from Kieran Harrington for Oceanside (10-0-1) in Nassau AAA. Marvin Espana made two saves for East Meadow (4-8).

West Islip 2, West Babylon 1: Sam Basini tied the score in the 61st minute and Caio Baione followed with the go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute to lead West Islip (5-4) in Suffolk IV. Charlie Basini assisted both goals. Cole Patrick scored for West Babylon (5-4-1).

Mattituck 2, Riverhead Charter 1: Rafa Finnerty and Jose Chapeton scored off assists from Charlie Carter and Connor Searl for Mattituck (7-2-1) in Suffolk VI. Cris Cuellar made five saves and stopped a penalty kick in the final minutes. Douglas Zelaya-Archaga scored for Riverhead Charter (4-7). Samuel Akinola made nine saves.

Kings Park 2, Half Hollow Hills East 1: Jakub Koniecki scored the go-ahead goal on a volley off a corner kick from Doug Mehilentze in the 87th minute for Kings Park (6-4) in non-league. Jonah Horning scored for Half Hollow Hills East (4-6).

GIRLS SOCCER

Wantagh 1, Floral Park 0: Lena Tuniewicz made five saves for Wantagh (4-2-2) in Nassau A/B-I. Emma Bianculli scored off an assist from Heather Udell with 16 minutes to go in the first half. Sydney Reid made eight saves for Floral Park (4-5-1).

North Babylon 2, Longwood 1: Brook Milheiser and Sarah Hernandez scored second-half goals for North Babylon (5-3) in Suffolk I. Alexa Furman had six saves, including two in the final minutes. Aubrey Urbanoweicz scored for Longwood (6-4-1).

Sachem North 3, Whitman 0: Addison Pitman scored a first-half hat trick for Sachem North (4-5) in Suffolk I. Layla DiRico made eight saves in her varsity debut, including a diving save in the final minutes to maintain the clean sheet. Natali Cruz made 10 saves for Whitman (6-6).

FIELD HOCKEY
