Pagan wins CHSAA tennis title

Justin Pagan of St. Mary's defeated St. Anthony's John D'Alessandro, 7-5, 6-0, Wednesday to win the CHSAA boys tennis individual championship. It was the second straight title for Pagan. Seniors Ryan Wennberg and Jonathan Sanders of St. Anthony's defeated teammates Mike Granito and Alex Mannheimer, 6-3, 6-2, to win the doubles championship. It was the first title for Wennberg and the second consecutive one for Sanders, who won it last season with Granito.
Cold Spring Harbor 6, Syosset 1: Josh Levine defeated Kevin Katz, 6-2, 6-1, at first singles for No. 1 Cold Spring Harbor (18-0), which won the Nassau team championship for the fourth straight season. CSH will face Half Hollow Hills East Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Wheatley for the Long Island championship.
Manhasset 4, North Shore 3:Harrison DiGia defeated Austin Davidow in the deciding match at first singles, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, as Manhasset (12-1) won its first Conference II championship since 2003.
Sachem East 4, Westhampton 3:Jason Quintana defeated Christian Thienel at first singles, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (4) in the deciding match for No. 14 Sachem East (10-8) in the second round of the Suffolk playoffs. Sachem East will play No. 6 Patchogue-Medford at 4 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinals.
BOYS LACROSSE
Huntington 12, Comsewogue 11: Dan Plant scored his third goal 15 seconds into overtime to lift No. 5 Huntington (14-3) over No. 1 Comsewogue (16-1) in a Suffolk Class B semifinal. Connor Duddy scored with 42 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 11 for Comsewogue. Nick Saputo had four goals and an assist for Huntington, which will play Shoreham-Wading River in the final on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Stony Brook University.
Shoreham-Wading River 12, Eastport-South Manor 10: Mike Malave scored two goals and Tim Rotanz had two goals and three assists for No. 2 SWR (16-2) in the win over No. 3 Eastport-South Manor (14-4) in the Suffolk Class B semifinals.
Mount Sinai 10, Glenn 7: Chad Marino's goal with 7:17 left broke a tie at 7 for No. 3 Mount Sinai (9-6) in a Class C semifinal. Marino scored a minute later to extend the lead and Matt Poillon made 15 saves for Mount Sinai, which will play No. 1 Bayport-Blue Point in the finals Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Stony Brook University.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Bay Shore 13, West Islip 5: Kyra Harney had four goals and two assists and Samantha Fagone made nine saves for No. 2 Bay Shore (15-3) in the Suffolk Class A semifinals. Bay Shore will play Northport in the final at 3 p.m. next Thursday at Dowling. No. 3 West Islip is 14-4.
Northport 19, Floyd 6: Cortney Fortunato scored four goals and Allie Breitfeller had three goals for No. 1 Northport (16-2) in a Suffolk Class A semifinal. No. 4 Floyd is 14-4.
Garden City 16, South Side 7: Caroline Tarzian had four goals and three assists and Mikaela Rix added three goals and three assists to lead No. 1 Garden City (17-0) in the semifinals of the Nassau Class B playoffs. Garden City will play No. 3 Manhasset in the final at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hofstra.
