Here are the top 15 Long Island wrestlers to watch at the New York state wrestling championships at the MVP Arena in Albany.
DIVISION I

Name, School, weight class, grade, season record, seed in the state tournament
Santino Pascarella, Half Hollow Hills East, 103, So., 37-2, fourth: He has had a dominant season and is the favorite to win this weight class despite being seeded fourth.
Xavier Seabury, North Babylon, 110, So., 43-1, first: He finished third in the state at 101 pounds last season.
Jon Tutku, Massapequa, 110, 8, 34-2, third: He won the state title at 101 pounds as an eighth-grader.
Ethan Andreula, Long Beach, 110, So., 25-2, fourth: He finished third in the state at 108 pounds last season.
Dunia Sibomana-Rodriguez, Long Beach, 118, Sr., 42-3, first: He is a two-time state champ and has also finished second and third in his career. He has 199 career wins.
Will Russell, Manhasset, 118, Sr., 41-6, sixth: Russell lost, 1-0, to Sibomana-Rodriguez in the Nassau final. Russell lost in the medal round in the state tournament as a sophomore.
Anthony Severino, Lindenhurst, 138, Sr., 41-2, first: He took second in the state as a sophomore and third as a junior.
Jake Nieto, Massapequa, 138, Jr., 40-1, second: He was a state tournament qualifier two years ago as a freshman.
Matthew McDermott, Smithtown East, 144, So., 44-2, second: He was a state runner-up as a freshman.
Camryn Howard, Bellport, 157. So., 44-0, first: He won state and national titles as a freshman. Howard is only the second wrestler from Long Island to win county titles four years from seventh grade through 10th grade.
Thomas Vecchio, Sachem North, 175, Sr., 44-0, 16: A wrestler with a record of 44-0 gets the No. 16 seed. He is much better than that.
Devin Downes, Plainedge, 215, Sr., 39-4, 204-30: Downes He won the state championship at 215 pounds in Division II last season.
James Mulhearn, Massapequa, 285, Sr., 43-2, third: He is a returning qualifier from last year’s state tournament.
DIVISION II
Andrew Dolson, Shoreham-Wading River, 103, Fr., 42-1, first: The freshman stormed his way to the state tournament and is the top seed.
Gavin Mangano, Shoreham-Wading River, 144, Jr., 44-0, 210-5: Mangano is a two-time defending state champion and three-time finalist. Mangano was the Most Outstanding Wrestler in Division II in the state tournament last year.
