Bridgeport goaltender Kevin Poulin to be recalled by Isles
Bridgeport goaltender Kevin Poulin will be recalled by the Islanders as an emergency backup in case Rick DiPietro is unable to play at any point in the remainder of the Islanders 11-day road trip.
DiPietro suffered a groin strain in the second period of last night's 5-2 win over Calgary at Scotiabank Saddledome last night. DiPietro's injury is not believed to be serious, but Poulin will be around for precaution.
The 20-year-old Montreal native, 10-4-0 in 14 games for the Sound Tigers this season, is expected to join the team for practice Wednesday in Calgary. The team has today off and took a day trip to Banff.
