Josh Bailey dropped to fourth line during practice Tuesday

 In practice Tuesday morning, Josh Bailey was dropped to the fourth line, splitting reps with center Zenon Konopka in between Matt Matin and Trevor Gillies.

 Was that a message sent to the 21-year-old forward in wake of the team's 13-game winless streak, interim head coach Jack Capuano replied:

"It might be."

Since a hot start to the season, Bailey has dropped off significantly. The former first-round pick has been held off the scoresheet for 13 games, coinciding with the team's recent slump.

When asked if Bailey could benefit from watching a game from the press box, Capuano did not rule out scratching him for tomorrow's game against Columbus.

"We haven't made a decision yet."

Capuano, who hinted after Saturday's game that personnel changes may follow after a disappointing effort, said he's like to see Bailey be "stronger on the puck" and make "harder plays."

" I think Josh is going through a little bit of a tough time confidence--wise right now. But it's our job as a staff to, one way or another, get him out of that."

Bailey was scratched one game last year--in Carolina November 13--and responded with some of his strongest play of the season. Less than a week later, he went on a three-game goal streak.
