Islanders win 13th straight
Clark Gillies scored twice and had two assists as the Islanders defeated Pittsburgh, 6-2, before a crowd of 15,262 at Nassau Coliseum. Duane Sutter and Brent Sutter each had a goal and two assists. The win was the 13th straight for the Islanders, who won their next two games and went 12-1-1 in the month of February. They would proceed to win their third straight Stanley Cup after posting a franchise-best 54-16-10 record and 118 points.
