Resilience wins Wood at Aqueduct
Resilience, wearing blinkers for the first time, took advantage of a perfect trip under John Velazquez to win the $750,000 Grade 2 Wood Memorial by 2 1/4-lengths at Aqueduct on Saturday
Society Man, at odds of 106-1, was second followed by 38-1 Protective and 80-1 Lonesome Boy.
Deterministic, the 4-5 favorite, raced within striking distance for six furlongs, but finished a well-beaten eighth in a field of 12.
The winner, trained by Bill Mott, returned $11 for his second lifetime victory.
