I am a couple of weeks behind on this news, but belated kudos to the NFL for turning to Beyonce as its Super Bowl halftime act for 2013.
Of course, the NFL itself was far behind in getting around to hiring her. It was back in February of 2010 that I wrote this helpful suggestion after getting in trouble with my fellow geezers when I panned The Who’s act:
“After six years of middle-aged and late-middle-aged halftime acts at the big game, it is way past time to acknowledge the 21st century in 2011. Save us, Beyonce.’’
