Carolina Panthers center Ryan Kalil took out a full-page ad in Wednesday's edition of The Charlotte Observer that promised a Super Bowl championship this season.
A gutsy prediction, for sure, but admirable as well. And before you scoff at the boldness of such action, ask yourself this: would you want a player on the team you root for to suggest anything less? Surely, an ad that says "Hey, let's go 9-7, win the sixth tiebreaker and sneak into the playoffs with the second wild card" just isn't as impressive.
