WFAN will ring in a belated New Year on Monday afternoon with a familiar voice when Craig Carton begins his third stint at the station.

Carton will team with Chris McMonigle on “The Carton Show” weekdays from 2-7 p.m.

McMonigle, who grew up in Franklin Square, was most recently WFAN’s overnight host.

The duo’s first show will include a big-name in-studio guest at 5:30 in Madison Square Garden executive chairman James Dolan.

Carton, 56, returns to WFAN after teaming with Boomer Esiason in the morning from 2007-17 and Evan Roberts in the afternoon from 2020-23.

In 2017, Carton left the station after his arrest on federal conspiracy and fraud charges in relation to a gambling addiction. He spent about a year in prison, returned to the station, and then left again for an FS1 TV gig. That show was canceled in July.

Carton, in a lengthy New Year’s Eve post on X, wrote: “As 2025 comes to an end just taking a moment to express my gratitude for the continued blessings I'm fortunate to receive — I am living proof that you can overcome your demons and your mistakes and flourish. Taking accountability for your own actions is where it starts and living a transparent honest life is when positive change can and will happen.”

Carton has always been a ratings magnet at WFAN. He told Newsday last month that he expects immediate success this time, too.

“I think I’m really good at doing it,” he said. “My ratings always have borne that out, whether it be mornings with Boomer or afternoons with Evan. I feel very confident and comfortable the show with Chris McMonigle will have the same level of success that those shows had.”

The previous WFAN afternoon show featuring Roberts and Tiki Barber begins its new midday shift at 10 a.m. on Monday. Roberts and Barber replace Sal Licata and Brandon Tierney, who were not retained by the station.
