Was Rob Parker’s "First Take" take Thursday questioning Robert Griffin III's credentials as a black man moronic, offensive and just plain silly?

Of course it was. He even introduced many of us to a brand new term, "cornball brother," that we were better off not knowing.

The thornier question is whether Parker, a former Newsday columnist, deserved to be suspended by ESPN for his remarks. It does seem unfair. Parker, like everyone else on a show whose motto is "Embrace Debate," presumably is encouraged to be provocative, politically incorrect and above all attention-getting. (Exhibit A: Skip Bayless.)

Mission accomplished! After his suspension is over, Parker should get a raise.
