Giants empty fish bowl
Other than the Fox/Cablevision tiff, the big sports media news of the weekend was the Giants moving their postgame news conferences out of the notorious, glassed-in "fish bowl" in the NMS Coaches Club and into a windowless room down the hall.

Some of my Twitter followers took issue Sunday with me calling the move a victory for sanity, claiming elitist writers don't want their space invaded by the masses.
Fair point, partly. But only to a point. News conferences are an important place of business for the journalists who cover the games and for the head coach and players who are there to answer questions and offer insights into what did or did not happen in the game.
They are no place for fans - some of whom have had many hours of drinking adult beverages under their belts - to boo or cheer or call Rex Ryan "fat boy," as happened after the Jets opening-night loss to the Ravens.
The Giants correctly understood the setting was all wrong and made the move, and did right by the people in the Club who paid $20,000 in PSLs and $700 for game tickets by moving the postgame television show into the same location.
The Jets plan to continue conducting postgame news conferences in the fish bowl. Ryan still is a tad on the heavy side, but after five wins in a row the fans aren't calling him "fat boy" anymore.
