Isiah Thomas toils at FIU
Had a nice chat with Isiah Thomas Saturday night after he wrapped up his second regular season at Florida International with an 83-76 overtime victory over Troy.
Here is the story I wrote about it. Among other things, Thomas said he wishes the Knicks well, but that he will not be in attendance when the Heat hosts the New York squad Sunday night.
He promised his wife he would go on a boat ride with some friends.
Thomas is 17-43 at FIU, which aspires eventually to become a Gonzaga-style non-BCS conference power.
That looks to be many years down the road right now. Isiah has a big task ahead of him if he chooses to stick it out.
