Joe Micheletti to fill in for Butch Goring as Isles analyst on Friday
With longtime Islanders analyst Butch Goring still recovering from recent shoulder surgery, MSG Networks will turn to former Islanders and current Rangers analyst Joe Micheletti to fill in for Friday night’s game against the Hurricanes.
Because Micheletti is calling a Rangers game on Saturday night, he will not travel to Raleigh for the Islanders game. Rather, he and play-by-play man Brendan Burke will work from MSG’s Manhattan studios.
On Saturday night, Bridgeport Islanders announcer Alan Fuehring will call the Islanders’ game at St. Louis from the studio, filling in for Burke, who will be on the road for a Sunday TNT game. The analyst for that game has not yet been named.
If Goring is not ready to return next week, MSG will turn to other analysts to fill in, including Anson Carter.
