Jeremy Roenick has no regrets over crying on national TV

I ran into Jeremy Roenick at the Sirius XM fantasy football draft in Times Square Wednesday and asked him what sorts of reactions he has gotten since crying on the air last month after the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup.

Here is what he said.

"I’ve gotten a lot of great feedback from everybody outside of Philly. When you see somebody that’s a real person and that real emotion, that came over me without any kind of expectation.

"To me, I have no qualms and no regrets in being emotional and being a passionate person. When that happens I think whether it’s on TV or not on TV I hope people can respect that fact, because way too many people in this world are emotionless.

"If more people had emotions and cared more about the things they do and the people they’re with this world would be a better place. Unfortunately people don’t have anything better to do in their lives except criticize other people.

"I love the game. I love both those teams. And I never got to win a championship. That was the first time I was in that building when the Cup was there since ’92. That’s the one thing that’s always going to be missing in my lifetime, and I swear to God I’ve never not missed on TV the handing off of that Stanley Cup.

"That will haunt me for the rest of my life, because trust me, that’s what we talk about every single day in that locker room, for sure."
