June brought the news Marv Albert no longer will call Nets games on YES.

Then came the July bombshell that Doc Emrick will leave his gig on Devils games for MSG Plus.

I’m not sure whether the bigger surprise is one region losing two play-by-play men of that magnitude in one offseason or that both were calling games for New Jersey teams in the first place.

What else could go wrong for Jersey in August? Gary Cohen leaving Seton Hall hoops? Chris Carlin ditching Rutgers football?

Oy. At least the gas still is (relatively) cheap.
