Jim Nantz, Nick Swisher guest on 'How I Met Your Mother'
Sorry about the lack of blogging thus far on this fine Super Bowl media day.
I was delayed by an appearance before a group of bright, attentive seniors at Roselle (N.J.) Catholic High. Another encouraging sign about America's youth and future.
On a less encouraging note . . .
When I got home I watched "How I Met Your Mother" from Monday night - the first time I have seen CBS' popular sitcom.
Jim Nantz and Nick Swisher performed well in guest appearances, but I was shocked by the ultra-casual treatment of sexual relations between young adults who have known each other for only a few minutes.
Especially on a show that airs at 8 p.m. Gee whiz.
(The plot involved Doogie Howser seeking a "perfect week" of seven such conquests, only to be sidetracked by Swisher's presence in the local tavern.)
And I certainly am no prude. For example, I strongly endorse Rex Ryan's right to flip off drunks at MMA events as often as he chooses to.
