Keith Hernandez is close to agreeing to a new contract to call Mets game for SNY, according to industry sources.

When the contract is completed, Hernandez, 72, will continue as an SNY analyst with play-by-play man Gary Cohen and analyst Ron Darling.

The trio — affectionately known as “GKR” by Mets fans and generally considered one of the best booths in baseball — will call Mets games together for a 21st consecutive season.

SNY announced the trio will broadcast the Mets’ spring training opener on Feb. 21.

Hernandez, who could not be reached for comment, told the New York Post last March that he hoped to sign a three-year deal and, following that deal, would like to stay involved with the broadcasts on a limited basis — a la Ralph Kiner at the end of his broadcasting career.

On Tuesday, Hernandez was a guest on Laura Albanese’s “First Time Listener, Long Time Caller”’ podcast and discussed the proposed new deal.

“I believe I’m cutting back to 91 games from 110,” Hernandez said on the podcast. “It’ll be — if it’s signed — it’ll hopefully be a three-year deal.

“I’m not supposed to talk about this, but it’ll be cut back to 90, and you know, we’re not getting any younger up there in the booth. They’ve got to start looking around for people that are going to have to fill our shoes when the time comes.”
