Wednesday night's Nets-Knicks game averaged 2.28 percent of homes on MSG, a huge number for a preseason game.
It was a 322 percent increase compared to last year's home preseason opener, and was the highest figure recorded for a preseason game since the current ratings system came into use in 2004.
Last season, regular-season Knicks game averaged 1.8 percent of homes on MSG. That was a 100 percent increase over 2009-10, but still not as high as Wednesday's practice game.
