Despite me jinxing them by stepping on the massive Rangers logo on the floor of their new locker room last week, the Blueshirts still plan to go ahead with their home opener Thursday night against the Maple Leafs.

MSG is in the midst of a daylong celebration of the big event.

At 6 p.m., the channel will have "Rangers Blue Carpet,” in which Tina Cervasio and John Giannone will talk to special guests about the new season and new-look Garden.

At 6:30, Al Trautwig and Brian Leetch host the pregame show, followed by the game itself at 7 with Sam Rosen and Joe Micheletti in the booth

Following the postgame, MSG will premiere a new show called "Beginnings" that offers behind-the-scenes looks at how star players got their starts.

First up is captain Ryan Callahan, who visits his hometown of Rochester.

Ahead on the "Beginnings" schedule: Derek Stepan, Brian Boyle and Marc Staal.
