NBA TV features Israeli player

I rarely provide free programming notices for NBA TV, but now that the channel is more widely available and is premiering what sounds like an interesting show Wednesday night . . . Why not?

Here's the actual news release:

This season, Omri Casspi became the first Israeli to make an NBA team, and his pioneering achievement as a member of the Sacramento Kings is a source of immense pride in his home country. In this one-hour special, viewers follow Casspi both on and off the court to cover multiple storylines, including Omri's adjustment to a new league and culture and his role as Israel's ambassador to the NBA.

The special catches up with Casspi trying to fit in during training camp; making an impressive debut on opening night; settling in to his new home and hosting his mom as she visits Sacramento; traveling on an extended road trip as both he and his team struggle; and enjoying "Casspi-Mania" in every city he visits, especially New York, where he is welcomed as a hero. The action also takes Omri to All-Star Weekend in Dallas, where he reflects on his whirlwind rookie season..."Promised Land: Omri Casspi - NBA Pioneer"...an NBATV 60 Minute Special....Wednesday, May 19th @ 8pm ET.

(Speaking of the NBA, either Newsday's agate page has some sort of terrible typo in its conference finals schedules or the NBA actually is making each series wait four days between Games 2 and 3. That can't be right, can it?)
