ESPN announced its early season "Sunday Night Baseball" schedule Wednesday, and to no one's surprise, the Yankees are well represented, with two games in the first three weeks - against the Angels and Red Sox April 15 and 22 - and another game against the Red Sox on July 8.

The unusual twist was that the Mets do not appear at all. Usually they are Sunday night regulars, given the size of the New York market and their national appeal. But not so in 2012, at least not early in the season. If the Mets exceed expectations ESPN could add one or more of their games later in the summer.

The first Sunday night game will feature the White Sox against the Rangers on April 8. Terry Francona will replace Bobby Valentine alongside Dan Shulman and Orel Hershiser in the booth.
