WFAN midday host Brandon Tierney confirmed on X on Wednesday that his show with Sal Licata is ending in the wake of Craig Carton's return to the station.
“Welp, the industry’s worst kept secret is official: 'BT and Sal' is quickly coming to an end on WFAN,” Tierney posted. “We’ll finish the ride the same way we started: with unmatched passion and energy for NY sports. It’s who we are. Been a ride, an honor…finish strong w/us. Ain’t done yet.”
Licata said on the air on Thursday that the duo's last show will be on Friday.
A spokesman for WFAN declined to comment.
WFAN’s parent company announced Wednesday that Carton will return starting Jan. 5 for his third stint at the station as the host of “The Carton Show” alongside Chris McMonigle from 2-7 p.m.
Current afternoon hosts Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber will move to 10 a.m.-2 p.m. as part of the shuffle.
