Miesha Tate calls Ronda Rousey ‘very pouty’ about her loss

Miesha Tate makes her first title defense against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 on July 9.

That’s all well and good, but of course, with Tate comes talk of a different opponent — Ronda Rousey.

Tate was a guest on Conan O’Brien’s show Monday night, her first appearance on any late-night talk show, and was asked about fighting Rousey again, should she beat Nunes next month.

“I’m not saying she won’t come back, I just don’t know if she’ll come back the same,” Tate said. “Because she seems awful pouty about the loss and we’ve all had losses. You either get up and get back on the horse and come back stronger for it or you sit out for over a year.”

Rousey was an undefeated fighter and media sensation. She lost to Holly Holm by knockout in the second round at UFC 193 last November. She hasn’t fought since, and there is no indication yet of when she might return.

“I’m at the best point of my career and she’s at the worst,” Tate said. “I think I bring a level of confidence. I’ve been defeated before, but I’ve come back stronger for it. I question whether she will be able to do the same.”

Tate beat Holm for the title at UFC 197 last March. She has lost twice to Rousey.
