STATESVILLE, N.C. — Legacy Motor Club is parting ways with driver John Hunter Nemechek after the NASCAR Cup Series season.

No reason was given for the decision.

“We are grateful for John Hunter’s contributions to Legacy Motor Club and appreciate his professionalism and commitment to the organization throughout his time with the team,” the team said Wednesday in a statement.

Nemechek was 27th in the regular-season Cup point standings and did not make the Chase for the playoffs. In 26 races, he has one top-5 and two top-10 finishes. He had eight top-10 finishes in 2025.

The team said it remains focused on finishing the 2026 season. It’s unclear at this point who'll fill Nemechek’s role with the team.
