Hurricane predicted to pass by Open by 8 p.m.
Pam Oliver announced on ESPN moments ago that the worst of the Hurricane Earl will not hit Flushing.
Oliver was told by a meteorologist that while matches will be delayed because of periods of rainfall, the day will not be canceled and most matches should get in.
Officials estimate play will resume at 3 p.m.
Notable matches that have been halted include Murray/Brown, Isner/Chiudinelli and Stakhovsky/Harrison.
