Vaulted ceilings with decades-old beams welcome visitors as they walk through the doors of a white stucco house in Upper Brookville.
Listing agent Kimberly Bancroft of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, who has been a real estate agent for 17 years, describes the attention to detail in the home as "overwhelming."

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom house on Chicken Valley Road is on the market for $3.49 million. Annual taxes total $28,737.
From furniture to light fixtures to hand-carved limestone fireplaces — one in the living room, a second in the primary bedroom — the details were carefully curated, Bancroft said. Built in the 1920s, according to Bancroft, the 3,683-square-foot house has retained its original character throughout a two-year gut renovation by the sellers.
“It’s like going to an art exhibit where it’s just so moving,” she said. “I just felt like, ‘Wow, I can really tell that these people were so thoughtful.”
Among post-renovation features are a new roof, updated plumbing, electric and septic systems, an air conditioning system with three zones and radiant heat in most rooms. The home has its own in-house sprinkler system and generator in case of emergencies.
Contemporary features, including a doorless shower in one of the bathrooms, and original features coexist.
“Somehow it all works together,” Bancroft said.
In the backyard, there are a deck and bluestone patio, an inground pool and a stone firepit. The address falls within the Locust Valley Central School District.
