Source: 'DWTS' producers wooing Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan's career rehabilitation may start on "Dancing With the Stars," whose producers "have had Lindsay on their wish list of castmates for a very long time," a source told RadarOnline.com Tuesday.
"The producers were concerned about her erratic behavior, but they are taking another look at asking her to come on for the next season because she is doing so well at her sober living facility," the source said.
The "Mean Girls" star, 24, checked herself into the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., for inpatient rehab for substance abuse in September. A judge in a probation hearing stemming from her 2007 DUI convictions ordered her to continue there through Jan. 3, and return to court in late February.
"Lindsay won't be making any decisions about what she chooses for her next project without consulting first with her treatment team," the source said. "This wasn't mandated by the court, her advisers or [her] medical team. . . . Lindsay has taken that step herself, which is a very, very positive sign."
Though Ethan Terra, a partner in mother-manager Dina Lohan's production company, said Friday that Lindsay Lohan "has a mountain pile of scripts to choose from," the ABC dance competition "pays very well," Radar's source said. "Lindsay has very limited income coming in and this could help get her out of the red."
Dina Lohan did not respond to a request for comment.
Neither ABC nor "Dancing With the Stars" producers comment on casting rumors. The show's next edition is scheduled for March.
