Disney drops 'Jonas'

The Jonas Brothers are Disney Channel stars no longer, says The Hollywood Reporter. The sibling trio's television show, "Jonas L.A.," has been canceled, the network said. In its statement, Disney added that despite the series' cancellation, it will continue to work with the Jonas Brothers on their music through its record label. Previously named "Jonas," "Jonas L.A." received a 2010 Emmy nomination for outstanding children's program, along with fellow Disney shows "Wizards of Waverly Place" and "Hannah Montana."

In Clayburgh's honor

Broadway theater marquees were dimmed Tuesday night in memory of Jill Clayburgh, who appeared in Tony Award-winning musicals and plays in her five-decade career, The Associated Press reports. Clayburgh died Friday after battling leukemia for more than two decades. She was 66. The marquees went dark at 7 p.m. for one minute. Clayburgh's Broadway credits include Noel Coward's "Design for Living," the original production of Tom Stoppard's "Jumpers," and the musicals "Pippin" and "The Rothschilds."

De Niro's golden

Robert De Niro will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement at next year's Golden Globe Awards, AP reports. The award will be presented to him at the 68th annual Golden Globes telecast on Jan. 16. De Niro has won eight Golden Globes Awards in both the comedy and drama categories. He's also won two Academy Awards and the Kennedy Center Honor. Previous winners include Barbra Streisand, Al Pacino, Michael Douglas and this past year's recipient, Martin Scorsese.
