Taylor Swift released a new song, "Dear John," that is supposedly about her failed relationship with singer John Mayer. In the song, the youngster takes shots at Mayer, 33, for taking advantage of her youth, vulunerability and love. Now she proclaims that she loves being single after all the pain she has gone through. Who cares?

For a person who hasn't even reached legal drinking age, there is a lot of emphasis on her love life. The thing is, she is 20. Being single shouldn't be something that is so rare that she needs to make a declaration about it. She was in a relationship with someone more than 10 years older and everyone is in an uproar that she got her heart broken. Isn't that a part of the growing process? We encourage our young people to enjoy their youth and freedom, EXCEPT when it comes to relationships?

It is funny that just last year everyone was cradling Swift after Kanye West made his outburst during her speech at MTV's VMAs, but now she is a grown woman with man problems. She should enjoy being 20 and put the emphasis on her career ... and not a man.
