Have you heard about this online petition demanding that E! oust the Kardashian clan and especially oust "Keeping Up With the Kardashians"? It went online earlier this week and got some attention, but after a story was posted on Yahoo ... shhhaaaZAAAAAM! It's gone viral big-time and just hit 109,000 signatures.

By my estimation, this is growing at the rate of about 1,000 signatures every half-hour or so. Gopetition.com says it's "off the scale in popularity," and warns that signatures might not appear immediately because of server outages. Interestingly, at least three other petitions have been launched in reaction to the dump Kardashian one, which are telling E! to keep the Ks.

Alas, traffic on those do not match the Dump Kim crowd; I saw just one signature on one, and 13 on another.

Also, you'll want to check out the companion website, boycottkim.com.

How effective is something like this? I think I can safely promise you: This will not influence E! in the slightest. But an intriguing prospect: If this petition goes nuclear, the Mainstream Media will kick into gear, and before long you'll start seeing stories like "Is America Fed up with Kim?" or -- a possible New York Times hed -- "Egregious Consumption by the Kardashians has now Sparked Nationwide Backlash."

That has the net effect of putting Kim and Kompany in the same category as Kate Gosselin, and we know what happened to her.
