Ray Romano to guest star on LI-set ‘Kevin Can Wait,’ report says

Ray Romano and Kevin James, who have traded guest spots on each others’ TV shows over the years, will appear together in James’ new Long Island-shot sitcom, “Kevin Can Wait.”
Entertainment Weekly said Thursday that Romano, 58 — a Forest Hills, Queens, native who played a fictional Newsday sports columnist in the Lynbrook-set “Everybody Loves Raymond” — will portray an overzealous car salesman, Vic Margolis, on an episode this fall.
The series, starring the Mineola-born and Stony Brook-reared James, 51, centers on retired cop Kevin Gable, who lives with his family on Long Island. Shot at Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage, it premiered Monday on CBS. Romano’s character — the father of the new best friend of Gable’s son Jack (James DiGiacomo) — wants to sell Gable an overpriced auto, EW said.
Romano’s “Raymond” character Ray Barone made crossover appearances on four episodes of James’ “King of Queens.” James crossed over to “Raymond” eight times, twice as his “King” character Doug Heffernan and six as Kevin Daniels, a friend of Ray who was also the Mets’ radio play-by-play commentator.
