Roast Sandwich House is on a roll after opening its seventh, and easternmost location, in Hauppauge.
The popular sandwich shop known for its house-roasted meats and made-from-scratch soups takes over the former Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop at 373 Smithtown Bypass.
Roast Sandwich House debuted in 2011 in Melville and gradually expanded to Hicksville, Mineola, Syosset, Bellmore and Babylon.
New on the menu is the Wagyu beef chopped cheese ($18.59) made with American cheese, lettuce tomato, onions, ketchup aioli and Doritos on a toasted hoagie. Other must-try items include the tuna salad sandwich ($12.99) on wheat focaccia bread and the crispy chicken alla vodka sandwich ($15.80)
Owner Joseph Cordaro said the new outpost's location in an already-busy shopping center is an advantage. "We have a lot of good anchor tenants in here with TJ Maxx and Shop Rite," he said. "We’re hoping for the industrial park to bring — similar to Melville in that regard — a lot of business." Cordaro said
The 1,750-square-foot space with seating for 22 guests (plus outdoor seating in the warmer months) came together quickly — "it was a month and a half turnaround," Cordaro said. It features the chain's modern industrial decor with lime green and black walls.
