Police on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, identified Ronaldy Benjamin, 28, of Centereach as the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a car on Route 25 in Selden on July 5. Credit: Chris Sabella

Police on Wednesday identified a Centereach man as the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a car July 5 in Selden.

Ronaldy Benjamin, 28, was the man struck shortly after 9 p.m. by a 2013 Kia Soul heading west on Route 25 at College Road, Suffolk County police said.

Benjamin was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the Kia, Mary McCabe, 51, of Coram, was not injured, police said.

Criminality was not suspected, police said.
